About Matthew
Here’s a little bit about me…

I grew up in the small town of Randleman, North Carolina. I spent much of my childhood performing in nearby cities such as Greensboro, High Point, and Asheboro. Upon graduation from high school, I moved to Greenville, NC to attend East Carolina University

As an actor, I have worked in rep theatres, outdoor dramas, and theme parks. Some of my favorite experiences include  The Lost Colony  outdoor drama (2013 recipient of the TONY Honor for Excellence in Theatre), Central Piedmont Summer Theatre , Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte , and D & G Entertainment Design . As a director, I have had the opportunity to direct musical revues, 10-minute plays, short scenes, and full-length productions. Check out my resume   for a more thorough list of my theatrical experiences!

During my time at East Carolina University I was able to found a student-run theatre company called 5th Street Players. I acted as Producing Artistic Director for the company as well as a resident director. Creating this company allowed for more opportunities for students to perform, create, and explore their art.

In May of 2016, I graduated from the Honors College at East Carolina University with a BFA in Theatre Arts with a dual concentration in Musical Theatre and Professional Acting. I was fortunate enough to be awarded the School of Theatre and Dance's Rosalind Roulston Award as well as the award for Outstanding Student in Musical Theatre at graduation.

I am currently based out of New York, NY working and auditioning for productions all across the United States.
